One word recaptcha?

Hi, I see that facebook uses recaptcha, but somehow on the registration page they can display one word captcha instead of two, and then I notice that repcatcha only checks the first word, and the second word acts like a dummy, the question is, can we how say recaptcha just show one word ? not two?
