MYSQL - Quotes table and field names and unquoted names

I basically always leave the row and table names without quotes in my MYSQL queries - this never caused me any problems, and I find this to be more readable. However, I noticed that some people keep them in the opposite direction.

So, what's the difference between a table name with quotes and unquoted? Any advantages / disadvantages? Are there situations where you may need to enclose a name in quotation marks?
