Firefox extensions localStorage

I am doing a Firefox extension to determine when a "storage" event is fired from localStorage.

In Firefox 3, I have this line to associate a storage event in a window with a function in the extension.

$(doc, doc).bind('storage', on_store());

This works in Firefox 3. However, it does not look like an event when it is checked in Firefox 4.

The spectrum seems to suggest that the event storagewill fire in the window (therefore $(window).bind('storage', on_store), the correct way to bind).
