Problem with tomcat 6

I just started tomcat and opened my browser and gave http: // localhost: 8080 . But I found error 404. I tried to run the same in eclipse, I got the following error message.

Multiple ports (8005, 8080, 8009) are required from Tomcat v6.0 Server at localhost is already in use. the server may have already started another process or the system process may use the port. To start the server you will need to stop another process or change port numbers.

What could be the problem?
