Hey guys! Today the big question is:
I got Drupal gig and decided to use D7! Wow! This is your main ad-based website (the second one I'll do). Unfortunatly:
- the ad module is not particularly powerful or flexible (for what I want it)
- he is not ready for d7 yet
SO: I was wondering if anyone tried to make cck as much as possible, as an advertising module with as many modules as possible, how well it worked and what problems you encountered.
"Why," you can ask, "is the venerable ad unit (if it worked in D7) not good enough for this person?" Let me tell you. (of course, I may be wrong in some things, but that is why I come to the forum)
- The ad module does not handle free html ads very well.
- The ad module seems to really want to block all of its output into small blocks that I cannot easily create.
- The ad module is not CCKey as we would like.
- Ads cannot determine their context and behave differently (this site has a lot of design “innovations” / oddities).
