I am sure that many here know about image placement objects such as imgur, min.us, photobucket, etc.
Not that I wanted to develop it, but, besides, just uploading the file, organizing it in some directory somewhere, what architectural considerations are involved in these sites? Especially when millions of pageviews per day (like imgur, I think)
This is interesting to me, because it seems that many sites (for example, dating sites, etc.) will be quite intense. Even if it’s not for millions of page views, what are some basic architectural requirements for efficient image delivery on the Internet?
