Iphone reads audio from embedded applications

I am trying to implement audio analysis for my application (i.e. for a visualizer or something else). Using the Audio Queue structure, can I read the result of playing itunes against the background of the device into the AudioQueueLevelMeterState variable? Once I have this variable, I can do everything I need, I just can’t figure out how to get this information. All the samples that I looked at are read either from the internal sound of your application or from the microphone input. To make my application as simple as possible, I would prefer the user to customize any music they want on itunes and just play in the background when loading my application ...

The iPhone application does not have access to audio from any other application in stock. You need to read the data of the iTune audio file in your application and play it yourself.
