Problems setting up a PC for Android development

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I downloaded the android SDK (Windows Installer) and I was asked to install Java at the beginning of the installation. So, I went out and installed the latest 64-bit java (JDK) .

After installing Java, I restarted the installation program, but it still says that the Java SE Development Kit (JDK) was not found. Will it hurt to download zip and copy it to my disk C:\and run the SDK manager there? Could it be that sdk for android requires 32 bit jdk?

I also run the 64-bit version of Windows 7 and downloaded the 32-bit JDK. I had no problems installing the Android SDK and everything works fine. I refused the 64-bit JDK if you do not need it for some reason.

I would look at the answers to the Benefits of the 64-bit Java platform to find out if the 64-bit version suits you. My opinion is that with the 32-bit version you should be fine (in fact, this is more than normal if you no longer receive the error message: P).
