Free CMS? (Or CMF)

Question

Can someone point me towards a good CMS system that is not packaged with a content management interface?

Ultimately, I need some kind of CMS system — a complete administration package that outputs content in XML or something similar so that we can compile the interface from scratch.

Usually we build an individual system for something like this, but the client specifically asked to create an existing open source solution.

Does Drupal or Joomla have truncated versions that can fit my criteria? Or some plugins that no one knows about?

Hopefully I explained this clearly enough. AppRain (http://www.apprain.com/) is the closest I found to what I'm looking for, but I'm concerned about the lack of documentation and support.

If you are for this, try typo3 . A word of advice, though: it's loaded .

You can completely create your own interface, in fact, no restrictions. However typo3 is very hungry! Anything less than memory_limit256 MB will not be enough.

You can specify Drupal and WordPress to output data in any format you choose.

They are not necessarily the best solution for outputting data in different formats, as they are specifically designed for HTML.

I chose a similar direction, but instead of getting the data in xml, it works the other way around. The template defines new elements on the page, and the "engine" reads this and saves the data in the appropriate place. I used this approach for the Wordpress plugin, which allows you to fully edit the website in the interface.
