Background:
I am a Ruby on Rails developer. Very simple knowledge of javascript.
Purpose:
I want to use JavaScript to improve my application, and I would like this structure to conform to the methods of object-oriented programming.
The framework needs to be easily studied: documentation, code examples, good design.
The application does not require a JavaScript level for JavaScript.
JavaScript speed is not a problem since I will deal with small data sets.
This is a personal project, so there is no time limit. I am ready to find out what is needed. Not popular JS frameworks are welcome. I’m more interested in deciding which structure looks more promising and how to start studying it than in what is the most used JS infrastructure.
Intended Use:
- Autocompleter
- Tabs
- Display a file tree with 3 depth levels.
- Extension Formats
- Change the div height to equal parent height.
I explored the existing ecosystem of JS ecosystems. Here is what I found more interesting:
jQuery: the most popular, but from what I read and what I see in the code examples, it seems very dirty. I want clean code. Ruby syntax would be my dream.
Mootools: good documentation.
