Trying to install Subversive for the first time.
Successfully installed the Subversive Command Provider in the Available Sites dialog box in the Help → Installing New Software. A site has been added that points to the Helios update site.
Restarting Eclipse and tried to open the SVN Repository browser, and it automatically started the Subversive Connector Discovery dialog , presenting me with 6 or 7 connectors to choose from.
I tried each of them, and they all fail, stating that “an error has occurred” and that I need to check the “error log” (Eclipse error log?) For details.
Then I walked out of the dialog box and noticed that now I can view all the perspectives related to SVN.
(1) Is it good for me to cancel this Connector discovery process, or do I need to locally create / edit repositories? If I need it, what’s wrong, and does anyone have any ideas on how to make it work?
(2) I am trying to execute the SVN Repositories function to create a new repository. How to point it to a local SVN server instance? By default, I ask me for a URL that I believe I would point to one of these "public" repositories .... which I don't want!
Thanks for any help!
