IOS - iphone / ipad version control

I currently have an iphone application that I want to make an ipad. I do not want this to be "universal." I want to sell the ipad version at a different price than the iphone version.

My question is, what is the best way to do this in Xcode? Am I just copying a project and then supporting two separate projects and building an ipad from a new project? This seems to be the only way to go, but it will be a pain to make updates for both. Suggestions? Advice? Thank.

In almost the same way that you make the application universal, you can make a separate version of the iPad. Disclaimer: I actually did not do this before; I went the universal way. Now you need to first right-click on your target and click "Update Current Target for iPad ...". Then click โ€œTwo apps for a specific deviceโ€ and โ€œOK.โ€ Good luck.
