Import existing source code as a reference library in eclipse

I have some source code from a friend that I would like to use as a reference library in my BlackBerry project. I am not sure how to pack the source code into a .jar file. I tried to export the source code to a JAR file and import it as an external JAR into my project, which gave me an error with a stack error. I tried to pre-predict the .jar file generated from the source using the provided pre-scan tool from BlackBerry JDE, it did not give me any output folder.

In fact, I'm not sure if I am exporting the source correctly. Can someone provide step-by-step instructions on how to package the existing source code into a valid JAR file that can be imported into my project as a reference library?

Again, I am using eclipse.
