New to Amazon RDS, need help

Question

I am new to Amazon RDS. I need your kind suggestion on some issues that I consider important to me:

• How can I load an existing database in rds? Is there any tool that it provides so that I can load an existing database file?

• How can I connect the database using my webapp (the application is on top of codeigniter)?

Very simple questions, I hope a good answer.
