Android convert pcm file from AudioRecord to smaller file

Question

I tried to record audio in Android. Sound quality using MediaRecorder really sucks.

So I tried to record the sound into the stream using the AudioRecord function. Great quality, but the pcm files are too large in size as I want to upload them to a remote server.

Does anyone know how to compress pcm (e.g. mp3 or else)? Any help is mostly appreciated.

As far as I know, Android has no built-in audio converters. It is best to use a third-party library, perhaps even c / C ++.
