Run Ruby / EventMachine script as a system service

Question

I wrote a simple UDP server in Ruby using EventMachine. I would like it to always work on my Linux box. Is it possible to track the proposals for its completion as a system service or in any other form, launched at startup, running on the go?

Like you on Linux, you can use gem daemons
