Hi, I :) I'm trying to figure out how I can capture some content via ajax in a jQuery script im. I am trying to customize this script according to my needs, its a pretty direct forwrd:
$('a.poplight[href^=#]').click(function() {
var popID = $(this).attr('rel');
var popURL = $(this).attr('href');
var query= popURL.split('?');
var dim= query[1].split('&');
var popWidth = dim[0].split('=')[1];
jQuery('#' + popID).fadeIn(200).css({ 'width': Number( popWidth ) });
var popMargTop = ($('#' + popID).height() + 80) / 2;
var popMargLeft = ($('#' + popID).width() + 80) / 2;
jQuery('#' + popID).css({
'margin-top' : -popMargTop,
'margin-left' : -popMargLeft
});
$('body').append('<div id="fade"></div>');
$('#fade').css({'filter' : 'alpha(opacity=80)'}).fadeIn();
return false;
});
$('a.close, #fade, .cancel').live('click', function() {
$('#fade , .popup_block').fadeOut(function() {
$('#fade, a.close').remove();
$('form').clearForm();
});
return false;
});
It calls a div that is hidden. I would just like to call a php file that contains all the content. it looks like html:
<a href="#?w=480" rel="whatever" class="poplight"><input type="button" class="button" value="update"/></a>
any ideas? Thanks in advance:)
Ok, I tried the jQuery UI dialog box ... and I have to say it is frustrating ... I know that it is difficult to follow someones elses coding, but in fact I can configure almost everything, except how to use this code for retrieving data and displaying it in a popup menu, since href causes a modal size, not some actual content
lol
