When you launch the Adobe product in the trial version, a window appears asking if you have a serial number, or if you want to continue the trial version. Next to this is a beautiful “license plate”, like those they had at airports (see Image).

Does anyone know where I can get one of them, preferably for free, for use as a component in a flex application?

There are several decent components available for free access that I found on activeden.net. They usually include source code, so you can modify them to suit your needs. Here is a good example of what you can find there: http://activeden.net/item/flip-numbers/104628

Hope this helps.

A very beautiful component can be found here:

http://www.flashcomponents.net/component/sense_flip_clock_3d.html

However, it costs $ 8. :)
