Reduce image loading time

I have a problem loading images. My site contains about 20 images on the main page. It takes a long time to download.

So, is there any code in asp.net framework 3.5 that will reduce load time without jquery or javascript.

Images are uploaded by the client browser and cached for subsequent requests. This way you can pre-use them with javascript. There is not much that can be done on the server side, except, of course, reduce the number of these images, but I do not think this is an option :-)
