How to check LaTeX spelling in multiple languages ​​/ language options

I am writing a Ph.D. thesis / dissertation and would like to be able to check spelling. The problem is that I have to write it in English in the UK, and many of my quotes are written in English. This makes spell checking quite painful.

Is there a way to mark sections of LaTeX text as British English / American English and ask for spell checking to either respond to these tags or skip sections that do not match a particular language option?
