WebView and capturePicture splash output

Question

My goal is to turn WebView into Bitmap so that I can add it to my desktop widgets. I got WebView.capturePicture () to work fine; however, I cannot get WebView to render without setting it as a content layout or similar. Since this is an application widget, I cannot install it as a view.

Can I render a WebView and save it as a bitmap without setting it as a content view?
