How to find out what type of optical media is in the drive using .net

Question

After looking at the information available in WMI, I found that there were no differences in the listed properties between the inserted CD R or the inserted DVD R, so WMI does not seem to know this information.

However, in Windows 7 with automatic playback turned on, a dialog always appears that knows the type of media and even if it is an empty disk. Windows Explorer also knows the difference. Does anyone know how to access this information through system calls or directly in .Net (2.0, 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0)

To do this, you need to access IMAPI v2, for which there is no official warpper.net.
