Gdb generate-core-file makes corrupt coredumps

Question

Ubuntu 10.10, GDB 7.2. I attach the application, watch the stacks in each thread, everything looks good. Create a core-core file and try opening this coredump in gdb. No routines are shown in backtraces.

I submit SIGSEGV to the application and open this new server in gdb. Stacks are fine and detailed.

Please tell me if you encounter a similar incorrect behavior of the core file.

This is a known bug in GDB. The link also has a patch to fix the problem.
