What does the error "ERROR: index" product: raw_hits: write error: 122070 out of 262017 bytes written "in Sphinx?" Make?

Some of my indexes seem to fail during a nightly rebuild with this error:

ERROR: index ‘product’: raw_hits: write error: 122070 of 262017 bytes written

The only link I can find on the Internet is some kind of multi-byte language that I cannot read. Has anyone experienced this error before?

Sphinx receives an error from the operating system that it cannot write the file.

It looks like you have run out of free space on your hard drive or an error has occurred on another drive.
