I have an application whose task is to process data coming from a COM port with an interval of 2 or 60 seconds. Obviously, there is no point in making this application standby. Three things come to me: 1) periodically report what is happening, what should be delayed in standby mode; 2) disable standby mode; 3) determine that the standby mode is configured and alert the user. IMHO, (1) will make the most sense.
So what does such an application usually do?
