Opening a Word document (.doc) from a stream

I have a bunch of Word documents (.doc) stored in my SQL database that I need to open, clear properties like Title, Subject, etc., and then save the file back to the database.

Is it possible to open the ".doc" file from a stream?

Word cannot open .doc files from a stream in memory. To open a file, you first need to save the document to a temporary location.
