WPF Independence

WPF resolution independence in C # format?

What is the difference between monitor resolution and system DPI regarding WPF resolution independence.
Changing what in between saves the window size in WPF, which was previously not possible in User32?
EDIT: The book I read "Pro WPF in C Sharp" says that if we create a 1-inch button at 96 DPI and then change the DPI to 120, the button will become small due to the higher pixel density (in winforms) . But I tried this, and I see that in both cases the button size remains the same!

Why is this so?
