Function stitching and site definitions

I'm curious what you're worried about, this is one user of site definition compared to crosslinking. In a video on Channel 9, Ted Patterson explains that the stitching function is the way to go. It would be nice to learn about some of the experiences of other SharePoint experts.

Are you all using function stitching, or are there areas where site definitions are the best choice?

For me, this is purely script dependent. Function stitching is good if we need to work on defining an existing site, for example, a third-party or OOTB. but if his own solution or my own custom product based on SharePoint I still want to go with site definitions
