How to deploy an ad-hoc distribution (ipa file) or how to sync iTunes with devices

I use Ad-Hoc to deploy my application on different devices. I already created a * .ipa file and dragged it onto iTunes. In the "Applications" section, I selected my application and dragged it onto the device. This worked only once.

Now, if I try again, a red jagged circle with one in it will appear when you drag the application onto the device. What am I doing wrong?

I must add that the Mac I use is also a development machine. I also tried replacing the * .ipa file, but this is the same result. I tried this on different devices. This is always the same problem ...

Edit:
On an iPad with iOS 4.2.1, it worked once. On another iPad (the same features, but also with iOS 4.2.1), this is not so. Therefore, updating to newer iOS on other devices should not be relevant. I will try the zip + mobileprovision method.

No

Perhaps the problem is that the first synchronization took place on another computer (Apple uses the binding between iTunes and the computer), and not the one I use.

I believe I found the problem:

  • Select device in iTunes
  • Click "Applications" at the top (where music, images, etc.)
  • Activate Sync Applications
  • "" ( )
