If you use only the GPL library to test integration, but do not require it for distribution, does the GPL affect the entire product?

• My software uses a client library.
• I only need the GPL software as a server for integration testing.
• No GPL software needed for testing.

What are the implications of using a GPL server? Does it infect the rest of the system?
