Data visualization - charts with a lot of indicators / colors

Good. I am working on some dynamic diagrams for some proprietary programs. Most charts are column, column, or column charts. All this is easy for the topic, because we only talk about how 4 maximum metrics are displayed in one diagram at a time. However, one of the most used chart types in software is a pie chart, and they can have 30+ slices at any given time.

I was given an exciting task - to make sure that all charts (including pie charts with 30+ slices) look beautiful and cohesive. It is almost impossible for me to make a pie chart with 30+ slices beautiful and scannable, but I would like it to be proved incorrectly.

Any great examples of complex diagrams with many metrics / colors that work visually and read well?

Do I need to be a pie chart? How about using a tree map?

To quickly scan data and, as important or even more so, understand data, consider using a horizontal bar graph and torsion of a pie chart.
