How does jsfiddle mark code? Is there a library for this?

If you have ever used www.jsfiddle.net, you may have noticed that it marks the code with the correct colorings and various other helpers, such as translating tabs into four spaces or shift-tab. With Firebug, I see that it does this with an iFrame. Is there an open source library? I want people to write Python on a web page, but do it like jsfiddle.
