Equal sign in django activation activation URL

Question

I use django-registration and for some reason, when it sends an activation email, it inserts an equal sign in the third last character as such: http://example.com/accounts/activate/a65b4aca5156211bc522e29f3e872290544d14= e4 /

This means that the URL manager does not catch the URL (regular expression ^activate/(?P<activation_key>\w+)/$. In any case, the URL is incorrect because it must be without an equal sign.

Does anyone know why this is happening?
