Intel GMA 4500HD & vsync

Question

I am struggling with a gap problem in my OpenGL application.

It seems I found a driver for the GMA 4500HD (in my case on Thinkpad x200s) that supports the opengl extension WGL_EXT_swap_control.

Currently, I have installed driver 8.15.10.2182, which, in my opinion, is the last.

I set the Vertical Sync option in the driver control window, but it does nothing.

Do I have to live with a break problem or is there anything I can do to make the swap buffer happen on vsync without the WGL_EXT_swap_control extension?

Edit: I noticed that a demo application using Direct3d (11) does not suffer from a hardware break of the same type.

Is there any setting to enable VSync in the driver control panel?
Often you need to enable functions there before opengl can see them.
