Is there a library call that will allow sending / receiving messages with a variable size using MPI?
Working around would be to send the size of the data in the first message and follow it with the actual payload, but I was wondering if there was an agreement to combine these two separate messages.
The account provided by MPI_Recv is only the upper bound. MPI_Get_count can be used to find the exact number of items received.
It's like sockets I think.
