Keyboard using FOREVER to pop up iPhone application while debugging

In my application, which is very simple right now (2 sub-menus of TableView and one pre-built view), my preview containing 2 shortcuts, 2 text fields and 1 button acts very strange. If I run debug mode and click on one of the text fields, it will take about 10-15 seconds before the keyboard appears and nothing will work while waiting.
If I run the Performance Performance Tool, the application runs very fast, no problem.

Has anyone seen this before? Any idea why to do this?

I would carefully consider memory usage in the application.

Are you doing something in the background of applications when displaying KB?

I had a similar problem! Oddly enough, tasks running in the background prevented the keyboard from popping up. This was resolved by placing the following line in viewWillAppear, which made the keyboard pop up when the view loaded: [myTextField to become FirstResponder];
