WCF Service Self-Service Issues

I evaluate whether selfhost should use the wcf service in a windows service or IIS / asp.net

I am wondering what kind of problems with the real world you encountered while self-serving WCF.

Why do you (and many other people, too) immediately assume that self-service will cause problems (or more problems than hosting in IIS)?

We use a bunch of self-contained WCF services (inside Windows NT Services) almost exclusively, and I would not want it to be another way. For any serious hosting ready for production, I will always recommend self-hosting.
