Getting a secret key through keytool for releasing applications

I cannot find an online tutorial that gives me the step-by-step process of creating a suitable key using keytool in the JDK.

talks about it and gives commands, but in fact he does not say where and in what folder to enter commands. I'm sure something is missing for me here, but can someone direct me to where I need to start with this?

Run all of these commands on the command line. I assume that you are using a Windows machine for development.

Start → Run → cmd

type: java -version
