If I am not mistaken (and if I am mistaken, here or in what I say below, please correct me), non-jailbroken iPhones provide two broad storage areas:
- for applications (and data bundled with applications);
- for user-managed files.
I understand that the former is a protected repository, which means that the data that is part of the application and stored in this area is not accessible to the user, except through the application.
On a jailbroken iPhone, does this protected area still exist? If so, what protective measures remain; that is, does it store data that is not yet accessible to the user?
