C #: XNA vs. No XNA (performance)

I was interested to learn how to use XNA in C # for game development and not to use it. Can I use PictureBox instead of two-dimensional textures? Can I use Windows Form software for games or XNA is the best solution? Any advantages / disadvantages?

The harder your game, the less likely you are to find WinForms sustainable development. XNA is geared toward such things, so why not use it?

The real question that you should ask yourself is: "I want my game to run on Windows Phone 7, XBOX 360 and / or on the Windows desktop?" If your answer is yes, then study XNA. It’s best that most of the work allows you to target these different platforms.
