How to rename joomla component?

I want to change the assembly of the component name, I tried to change the xml file, but it also does not help to change the component name via datbase, but the same result. Can someone help me?

I know this is old, but there is a lot to rename the component, if you want to do it right, you need to change the class names, folder name, xml .., etc. You will also need to edit the database OR remove and reinstall it after making all the changes.

The same goes for modules, plugins and templates .. although they are usually a bit lighter.

Using PhpMyAdmin, go to the MySQL database table named jos_components and view the data. Find the component name under the field you want to change ... edit and save the entry.
