My department writes a mixture of Windows, Linux, and cross-platform (RHEL Linx and Windows Server 2003) C ++ code for home applications. We use STL and Boost 1.39.
VS2010 is now available in my organization. If we switched to VS2010, I would have to do a significant job for him. Which of the most noticeable benefits will we see from this move? Do you think it's worth the time to move?
Update
Given the size of our code base and the cross-platform nature of our code, I'm mostly interested in what the new IDE offers, for example. how good is intellisense (say, compared to VS for .net). Is intellisense working well for very large codebases? What is refactoring support? How does the performance of the IDE work? What is a debugger, for example, if I hover over a collection of smart pointers, is it relatively easy to see what's in the collection?
Thanks in advance
