Creating a SOAP Service Using C #

Question

I am not familiar with the professional level on this topic, so please forgive me when I use the wrong conditions.

A friend and I tried to create an http-based SOAP client / service for a personal project.

The language used is C #, IDE is VS2008.

We do not know where and how to start. The tutorials that I found are either too advanced or no longer usable due to VS limitations (vs2008 does not allow me to use WSE, which seemed to us rather pleasant for our purpose).

It would be great if someone could help us in this task.
