Development Methodology for Immature Teams

Question

When studying software methodologies, I often see a disclaimer according to "This methodology requires a mature development team."

What development methodologies are specifically targeted at groups of immature developers? I would suggest that this is the beginning of most teams.

Define an immature team as a team whose members have not previously worked together, work in an unknown environment (i.e. a new company), and have not yet defined their processes and controls.
