Debug Battery Warning

I have an application that connects to an external accessory via Bluetooth. Testers reported that the connection is dropped when the Low Battery warning is displayed. This was reported on iPod touch 2nd gen., Therefore, it may be peculiar to this device.

I am wondering if there is a way to run my application in a debugger (connected to my computer) without charging the device. In other words, is there a way to turn off charging a USB device whose battery is not fully charged?
