HTML5 Notifications

Does anyone use HTML5 notifications in practice, and is there any value to this? In my opinion, this was limited only to Chrome, and therefore I can not imagine how people are jumping on this thing.

Google now uses them in Gmail . I think this will prove to be popular and Chrome-only notifications will be triggered on other sites. Then it will be implemented in WebKit, so Safari also has it. Firefox will then implement the implementation, and I suspect that it will eventually get standardized.

If it is not difficult to maintain (and it does not look like ), then I would do it. You will delight users who have Chrome, without compromising the experience for other users.

Because Google is trying to make it the W3 html5 standard.
