Svn comments added to file in commit?

Is there a way to add commenting comments on modified files in 'svn commit'. I was told that there is a way to do this using cvs, but we use svn. We are currently adding the version number to the modified files with the $ Revision keyword.

We migrated from PVCS to SVN and found that they do not have ready-made support for these comments, which we also consider valuable. All I found was the reason for this in the FAQ from the SVN guys.

The log message inside the modified file is almost useless, because you can always use svn log -r REVand get the REV of the last change for a file with an existing keyword. Just rethink post-CVS methods used
