Find all asp.net custom elements that are not used / not specified

Question

I have a project with hundreds of user controllers, but many of them are old and are no longer used. Is there a quick way to find out which ones can be removed?

I don't know of any VS function / tool that can do this, but you can look for the following ways to import them:

• Via the Page.LoadControl call
• Directive @ Register
• controls section web.config
