Zend Studio 8 Performance Fix (typing input) Problem

Zend Studio 8 has performance issues with large php source files (about 3,000 lines of code) causing MAJOR typing lag. The patch is developed , but apparently they have not deployed it yet, but nothing happens when I go to Help> Check for Updates.

Is there a way to manually update the IDE so I don't have to wait for Zend?

Since the ZS8 is a commercial product and is only available for a few days, you probably still qualify for support. Log in to the Zend website and open a support ticket. They will come back to you and, most likely, will provide you with a patch (if any) and instructions for installing it.

Zend Studio has a lot of performance issues because it is based on Eclipse / PDT, and Eclipse often detects performance issues.

You might want to consider Netbeans, which has robust PHP support and fewer performance issues.
