Where do you get your sound samples from?

I’ve finished the application, and users will want to “sort out the sense of interaction” by adding some sound samples that should be played when some specific acytones occur. For the software point of view, this is not so difficult, but how can I get good sound samples?

How do you solve this problem? Create your own sound files? How? What software should I use? Or there is a large database on the Internet that offers free sound samples (I did a search on Google, but almost all the results are just useless sites). Or do you convince your customers that the sound is overpriced?

Do you even think that sound is necessary in a well-executed application?

You can get decent sounds from flashkit - there are some of findsounds and freesounds too . Use them in combination with a simple audio editing program. I use audacity (mac only).

What sound patterns do you want to find? How are individual instruments such as a drum kit or sound effects?

Regarding editing, Reaper is the best free sound editor you can find.
